Zimbabwe gears up for 2023 election amid economic woes

The Zimbabwe electoral commission has yet to announce the exact date for the polls, but it has revealed that it would be held either July or August of 2023. In the last presidential election, President Emmerson Mnangagwa won 50.8% of the votes, compared to Chamisa's 44.3%, who at the time was running on the ticket of the Movement for Democratic Change Alliance.
